born & raised in Amsterdam for half a Century. Since 1,5 years living in a suburb called Diemen.(so yes I'm 51 ) Started playing football in '85 till '95 and started officiating in '93 so combining the 2 the last 2 years. Worked numerous National Championships, European Championships @ senior & junior level. Also an IFAF JWC & SWC. The 2 most proud accomplishment I find is 1) being unique in playing in 3 and win 2 European Championships (EuroBowl) ánd later on officiate in that same European Championships (EuroBowl) twice as LM & SJ. 2) Being part of the NFL Europe for 2 years and officiate the World Bowl as a SJ. I do not have a nick name but I'm sure one of my European colleagues (esp. Frank K.) will come up with one. I'm a bank manager / appraiser for the " Stadsbank van Lening " the pawn bank of the city of Amsterdam. www.amsterdam.nl/sbl/english/Can't wait to get to Harbin Cya in a month Arnold

Post by Kim Larsen on May 24, 2016 7:48:24 GMT
Hi all My name is Kim Larsen - nothing special about that name I live in a small town in Denmark with my wife and our 2 year old daughter. I started officiating in 2006, and been officiating in the best Danish league since 2010. This is my third year as an ifaf official, and I've been fortunate enough to work the A-group European Championship in 2014 and the U19 European Championship in 2015. When I don't officiate or look through videos from games, I work night shift as an "industrial technician" (a very fine title that hides the fact that I'm just standing at a lathe making pieces for hydraulic cylinders). In the little time that is left between work and football, I also do sports shooting with rifle and pistol, a sport I share with my wife (we met on the youth national team...) Looking forward to this experience with so many new colleagues!

Greetings everyone. Also very much looking forward to the Harbin experience, my first real foray at Gridiron on the world stage.
Live in Melbourne Australia. 59 and married with three grown up kids (25, 22 and 19). Started officiating in 1986, my first experience at trying to control the mayhem of a full contact field sport. Over the years I've had plenty of enjoyment working games with like minded individuals at the local, state and international levels in and around our country.
When I'm not officiating I work for the fire department (been there for 30+ years as well) and dabble in electronics building mobile remote-control game/play clocks for our local games.
As the saying goes.. happy to officiate on any day ending in "y".

I'm exciting and looking forward to this tournament. Going to meet some old friends and definitely make new.
I'm 37 and I started my officiating carrier in 2000. year to date I've officiated around 550 games of which 60+ must have been on international level. Most of the time I'm referee (around 250-300 games), often short wing, occasionally deep and once per year the umpire. I never played seriously and for sure I wasn't successful like Arnold was (number of miss tackles progressed with number of games I played).
I was fortunate enough to work many notable games on national and international level including Austrian Bowls, Euro-Bowls and WC finals (senior and junior). Yet I've still lot to learn
2 small things to add up: 1) I'm self-employeed business consultant outside officiating 2) working for PULS4 (TV Channel) since 2010 commenting NFL games from officiating point of view

What a great idea with this introduction thread.
My name is Frank Kristensen, I'm Danish and I have been officiating since 1991. I like to teach officials, so I host off-season study sessions in my living room and I have helped with clinics in many different countries. the last three years I've been coordinating the annual IFAF Europe clinics. You can also find my instructional videos on my youtube channel.
I'm married (no kids) and I live a great little house, overlooking a lake.
Professionally, I'm a project coordinator/assistant for a contractor and I work on electrification of the Danish rail net.
And yes... I'm sure I can come up with a (new) nick-name for Arnold. :-)

Evening all.
Name: I'm Paul Taylor but known as Mitch in football (When I started playing there were a lot of Paul's so I went with my middle name. It stuck)
I'm 43, married with no children and 2 dogs. Based in the Capital, Canberra but I've lived all around Australia as well as Fiji and PNG. I'm a consultant for SMSMT. Mostly as a Project Manager or Analyst.
I played for 17 years. Mostly at Full back and Linebacker. I started officiating in 1997 when I broke my wrist playing. I began full time officiating in 2012. I've officiating around 360 games. Typically at Referee and Deep wing. My international experience is limited to 2 Junior qualifiers.
Hobbies: I'm enjoying a revival in board games with mates (now we're all old and respectable)as well as tinkering with PC's and walking with my dogs.
Very much looking forward meeting you all, learning a lot and being immersed in football.

Hi everyone,
my name is Bernhard Lair, friends, family, and fellow officials just call me Benni (that's why some think my name is Benjamin, like a famous Ski athlete from Austria). I was born in 1963 in Innsbruck, Tirol, and started playing American Football in 1983. Afterwards, I became an AF Coach (being a member of the National Team's Coaching staff for about 4 years in the 90's), and since about 1999 (yes, Prince knew that...) I've been officiating in Austria and all over Europe. I live near Salzburg, am still not married, but have two nice daughters together with my fiancee Mary. I'm earning my money as Senior technical writer in an Engineering company in near Bavaria/Germany.
And, yes, I'm looking forward to meeting some "old" officiating friends and, even more so, some new ones.
Yours in Sports
Benni Lair Minds, like parachutes, work best when open (Quote)
