We're less than a week away from arriving in Harbin, China... time to make sure you have your uniform, passport/visa, and anything else needed for the two weeks of the tournament.
Ken Li has all our travel information... when you arrive at the Harbin Airport, look for people with an IFAF sign with your name on it. They will take you to the Harbin University hotel to check in. I doh't arrive until 10pm Monday night so those in earlier need to find out where the meals are being served and other logistics.
Still waiting to hear about IFAF meetings on Tuesday so we can plan our staff and crew meetings. As soon as I hear IFAF, I'll post a schedule.
Last chance to post a questions so if you have one, please put it out here.
Please travel safe and see you next week in Harbin.
Bill L.

In the absence of further information, and with potential restrictions on Internet access in China. Is it worth agreeing on a rendezvous point / time. E.g. Hotel Lobby/Reception 10 am on Tuesday?

Good idea on the rendezvous point/time... 10am Tuesday in the hotel lobby would be good. I'll check with Ken Li about where meals are served & the times. As for the internet, Ken said that there is a platform on the internet that can be used to "assist" in access to email, FaceTime and other sites. I'll see if he can get this to us before we leave to set it up. As Ben mentioned, this site is okay... Ken accesses it from China.

Cheers Bill, Do you know if there will be WiFi in the Hotel/Campus? Ken informed me last week that wifi would be available at the campus hotel. Just received this from Ken Li: 1. Stadium play clocks have been installed... we should have a visible 25/40 play clock at each end of the field... BJ's be ready to meet on Tuesday/Wednesday and every game day with the play clock operator to give a thorough pre-game on the 25/40 play clock... this is brand new to them and it is our responsibility to make sure it works. DON'T ASSUME ANYTHING. I will post a separate form with an outline of the 25/40 so you can review this with the play clock operators. We will need to do the same thing for the game clock operators and wing officials will need to do a thorough pre-game prep with the chain crews EVERY game. NOTE: Though not the IFAF mechanic... crews will be on the field 1 hour before the game for supervision duties and to take care of chain crews, ball persons, etc. We will use the no-fly zone once a full team is on the field and split the teams from their 45 yard line and in. 2. Opening game two teams are not posted on the tournament website... it is TBA but the first game on Wednesday will be at 3:00pm (15:00)... opening ceremony at 2:00pm. 3. Ice & vending machine in the hotel lobby. 4. Internet in the hotel via your room number and password to be provided at check-in. 5. You will have an assigned person picking you up at the airport... it's a 40-minute ride from the airport to the hotel on campus. Coordinating the pickups is Yang Guozhong... in the event of an emergency call: 13946080657. 6. Cafeteria is on campus but not at the hotel... at check-in you can pickup a map showing it's location. 7. Referee microphone has been ordered and expected to arrive before the first game.
